The Story of Wall Street Café On June 10, 2004, the Wall Street Café, Detroit’s Premier Coffee Shop, opened its doors to the public. In 2000, Ramone Crowe, Jr.’s love for coffee sparked his interest in the coffee shop business.   After two years of research, Ramone realized that many coffee drinkers were looking for an alternative coffee shop that provided them something different and exciting. In 2002, while having his taxes prepared, Ramone pitched the idea of the coffee shop to his wife Sharen to get her thoughts.  After about a week of crunching some numbers, they thought it might be viable. "We set out to reinvent today’s coffee shop concept by creating a theme café.  We both have a love of finance and economics, so we began creating our theme around finance.  The idea for The Wall Street Café came out of our love for coffee and to make financial news and information readily available to our customers. We felt that financial news is typically presented in a high-pressure environment where only the very knowledgeable or wealthy are well served.  But we plan to change that by making financial information part of a fun, relaxing experience."
